TrustBoost

Unlike the above related works that are deployed systems related to restaking, TrustBoost [12] is an academic idea for a system that combines the security of multiple weaker blockchains to form a combined ledger. The core concept involves treating each blockchain as a ‘super-node’ and running a consensus protocol across these ‘super-nodes.’ As long as less than 1/3 of the blockchains are not broken, the combined ledger stays safe. Nonetheless, TrustBoost will be expensive in practice due to the need for frequent communication between blockchains. In contrast, Exocore is an omnichain restaking network, which borrows restaked assets from multiple blockchains to form a sovereign blockchain with the combined crypto-economic security.
